Bootcamp Learning Plan
1. Long-Term Goal / Career pathway
My main goal is to become a skilled coder and work in the tech industry. I want to use my interest in cloud technology in my next job, ideally for a company whose product is focused on fitness, health or wellbeing.
2. What do you think your biggest strengths and limitations will be in Bootcamp?
I believe my greatest strength will be my dedication and hard work. When I set a goal, I commit to giving it more than 100%. However, my uncertainties about whether I am good enough could be my limitations.
3. What do you think your biggest non-technical challenge at Bootcamp will be?
The biggest non-technical challenge for me will be speaking in front of the group.
4. What non-technical skills - human skills - would you like to see developed in yourself while at Dev Academy?
I would like to work on my communication skills and collaboration within the team.
5. What are your expectations from the Bootcamp team?
I expect guidance when I will feel stuck and constructive feedback.
6. What are your expectations of yourself on Bootcamp
I want to stay super focused during the Bootcamp. I'll wake up early, exercise for at least 30 minutes daily, and try to get good sleep when I can. I'm up for any challenge and ready to give it my best shot! Every week, I will be reflecting on my learning plan with my Technical facilitator. I also aim to contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment for everyone involved.
Foundations Learning Plan
1. Long-Term Goal
My long-term goal is to become a confident and skilled coder, aiming
to secure a position in the tech industry. I would like to find a
job that not only allows me to work partly from home but also aligns
with my passion for cloud technology.
Ideally, I would like to work for a company that shares my
excitement for well-being, perhaps centred around healthy lifestyles
or exercise. I think this would bring a sense of purpose to my work,
making it more than just a job.
I have also ambitious plans to develop my own applications.
2. Strengths and Limitations
I am dedicated to learning, demonstrating commitment and perseverance when pursuing my goals. Once I decide on a course of action, I stay focused and dedicated.
On the limitations note, when I fail, I easily lose motivation, and it takes me a while to get over it.
3. Personal Development Goals
I would like to develop more habits, communication confidence - enhance my ability to express ideas clearly and confidently. Learn effective collaboration within a team, understanding roles and responsibilities. Develop strong time management skills to handle workload efficiently.
4. Workload Management and Coping with Pressure
I will proactively communicate with team members, facilitators, and industry representatives. I will regularly assess progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines. I will prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
I will regularly practice mindfulness techniques to manage stress. I will take short breaks to refresh when feeling overwhelmed. I will utilize support networks, such as peers and mentors, for guidance.
5. Seeking Help
I will promptly reach out to facilitators or mentors when facing challenges. I will engage in peer-to-peer learning, forming study groups to share insights. I will attend scheduled support sessions and workshops.
6. Expectations from the Facilitation Team
I expect clear communication of expectations and learning objectives. I seek constructive feedback and guidance on both technical and non-technical aspects. I anticipate availability for one-on-one discussions and support when needed.
7. Communication and Commitments
I'll let you know ahead of time if anything unexpected comes up. Even though I'm focused on my studies, I understand family stuff can pop up. While I'm in the Foundations, I'll handle school drop-offs (8:30 to 9:00 am) and pick-ups (2:30 to 3:00 pm).
